Why Not Train The Same Way?
Simple answer to that question, Everybody is different. What works for me may not work for you, so here I've just short listed some training methods and give a brief description of how they work. For more in depth information just slam a question down on the Questions Page here.

DescriptionPerforming one single set on each exercise
Performing more than one set on each exercise, usually 3. A series of resistance exercises with a short rest period between each. Performing several exercises for the same body pat or pairing exercises together agonist & antagonist. Increasing the resistance and decreasing the repetitions over several sets. Sets that include multiple reps of 7. Continuous lowering of the resistance with failure each set. Combination of resistance training and plyometrics. |
Delorme-Watkins - Now I put this into its own category because its a little more complex to explain.
It involves increasing the intensity based on a 10RM. So for example if you have a 10RM of 40kg for the bench press you would need to perform:
Set 1 - 10 Reps of 50% of 10RM = 20Kg
Set 2 - 10 Reps of 75% of 10RM = 30Kg
Set 3 - 10 Reps of 100% of 10RM = 40Kg
