Can Exercise Help?
It certainly can!
Yet again I cant stress enough how many benefits come from exercise, its incredible! Exercise improves sleep by producing a rise in body temperature followed by a drop a few hours later, this drop in temperature which happens 2 to 4 hours after exercise allows the body to shut off much quicker and solidly. Regular aerobic exercise oxygenates the blood and reduces feelings of stress or anxiety that could depict a slight increase in insomnia numbers.

How Much Exercise Will Help?
You should aim to use aerobic exercise for around 20-30 minutes 4 days per week but NOT during the 4-6 hours before bed time. So if you go to sleep at 10, try and exercise before 5pm. NEVER exercise just before bed. You will have a troubled sleep if your body temperature is high whilst going to sleep.
