Do We or Don't We?
Now for those who are happily married with children that's great, i'm sure you wouldnt change it for the world, however for those who are single and 'playing around' or who're still young, does this get in the way of your training?
Speaking from my experience, I've been with my partner some time now and things are great, i couldn't imagine being single and still having the same enthusiasm. Some claim they have more motivation as they go to the gym to impress the opposite sex but I think this is a ridiculous idea, the people who train to simply impress the opposite sex usually quit after 3 months.
Being with a long term partner certainly helps me, due to the fact I'm training and pouring my sweat out every single session for me and only me! I don't need to impress anyone or show off what I've created, yet I still get the solid compliments from my girlfriend. Obviously compliments are the main factor here, if you don't receive any praise for your work you'll tend to quit very quickly, hence the reason why people training to impress quit.
If you're training purely for yourself you have no distractions and are never bothered what other people think, clearly those who are single are bothered about what people think of them.
From clients, the best results and motivation has came from those who're with a long term partner and training for themselves. People who are single have too much ego and get a little over confident about the whole thing and tend to get annoyed when results don't happen. You MUST remember to do this for YOURSELF and nobody else!
I think everyone in along term relationship would agree that channelling your anger or frustration into a workout is ideal! it cam seriously help results, its helped me time after time. Any disagreements and I'm off to the gym to calm down. its fantastic.
KEEP IT PERSONAL!
